Caesars Virginia is now accepting hotel reservations for stays beginning next month.
A co-development from Caesars Entertainment and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI), the $750 million resort destination will power on its 1,500 slot and electronic gaming machines and get cards in the air on the casino’s 79 live dealer table games on Thursday, Dec. 12. A Caesars Sportsbook and World Series of Poker Room will also debut.
For the casino’s first guests who wish to stay overnight or make it a long weekend, officials with Caesars Danville said Tuesday that room reservations are now being accepted for stays beginning Friday, Dec. 13.
Caesars Virginia has 320 guestrooms, with each measuring about 400 square feet. Hotel amenities include an outdoor pool, a fitness center, a full-service spa, self-parking, and 12 restaurants and bars.
Danville was designated for a casino through state legislation passed in 2020 and signed by then-Gov. Ralph Northam (D). Danville voters overwhelmingly backed the Caesars and EBCI casino project during a November 2020 citywide ballot referendum with nearly 69% support.
Opening Rates
Caesars Virginia will become the third permanent casino to open in Virginia. The first was Rivers Casino Portsmouth in January 2023, a standalone casino without on-property lodging. Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol was second when it opened earlier this month.
Rooms for Caesars Virginia’s opening weekend don’t come cheap. As expected, room rates are exceedingly high for rural Southside Virginia.
A two-night stay for Dec. 13-14 at Caesars Virginia for a basic room, advertised as a Luxury Room, starts at $999 before taxes and other fees. After the property’s $35 nightly resort fee is tacked on and taxes are included, the total fare for the two nights comes to $2,370.56, or $1,185.28 a night.
A Caesars Virginia rep explained that the $35 daily resort fee covers complimentary valet parking, seasonal pool access, basic Wi-Fi for two devices per room, and free local calling.
For gamblers wishing to check out the new Caesars casino but don’t want to pay a premium room rate, the nearby Comfort Inn, inclusive of all taxes and fees, is $186 a night. The Hampton Inn is $250 and the Courtyard by Marriott is $328.
Seeing an opportunity to turn their property into revenue-generators, many area residents near Caesars Virginia have also signed up their guestrooms and houses for short-stay rentals through services like Vrbo and Airbnb.
Three Stacks Opens
Caesars Virginia’s first restaurant to open is Three Stacks, a quick-serve American restaurant that’s open daily from 1:30 pm until 3 am. Three Stacks is named after the historic “Three Sisters” smokestacks — leftover remnants from the property formerly housing a textile mill that Caesars preserved to honor its rich history.
From hot dogs and wings to lobster sliders, ahi tuna poke bowls, and wagyu burgers, Three Stacks should hold over guests until the casino’s main entrees arrive. Caesars Virginia’s culinary options are to be highlighted by Ramsay’s Kitchen from esteemed celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
The resort will also feature the 500 Block Food Hall that combines three different dining experiences — burgers, pizza, and BBQ — into a single destination.
